Let’s see what’s inside this month’s box.
The packaging is sleek and cute. It looks like a smaller box but is filled to the brim with all the full size goodies.
The information card provides details about all the items that in the box as well as their prices! I thought this was great — I don’t know of many box subscriptions that provide you with the prices so that you as a customer know the true value of the box. Double brownie points for this.
Every item was neatly packaged in original packaging.
Got the very iconic Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in this month’s BoxyCharm box. It is definitely a brand that almost everyone has heard of. I have long been a fan of the Smashbox Primer and was very delighted to get another backup. As many primers as I have used in the past, I always come back to this one as it really provides a smooth base for the makeup. The gel like texture feels soft and slippery because of it’s silicone base. It also helps in blurring out pores and imperfections and provides a very smooth canvas for foundation to blend in easily. I have noticed that cream based foundations especially work great when combined with this primer.
Now this is a brand I have never heard of but from what I gather, RealHer makeup is certified cruelty-free, paraben and sulfate free and is made with natural ingredients. RealHer also donates 20% of profits to American Association of University of Women (AAUW), an organization that “advances empowerment, self-fulfillment, actualization for women and girls”.
I received the color called “I will succeed”. RealHer has designated names for each colors and the names are super uplifting and deliver a positive message. Love that about the company!
I absolutely loved the color I received, however I it felt super sticky when applied. While the staying power is pretty good, the initial stickiness felt a little uncomfortable. However, the color payoff is great, and if you do not mind the stickiness, it really is a great matte liquid lipstick that lasts a long time!
RealHer Lipliner – $12.50
The lipliner on the other hand turned out to be very creamy and moisturizing.
The color matched with the matte lipstick so you get a whole matching set which is great! This was also long lasting and glided on pretty smoothly.
Another new brand that I haven’t heard of but really liked this trio of eyeshadow palette.
The colors are absolutely gorgeous and I am sure I will be using them quite a bit, even though I am a neutral kind of a gal. I have only swatched lightly in these photos below.
You really don’t need to use a heavy hand with these as they are highly pigmented and the color payoff is great. I can definitely see myself enjoying these.
A synthetic fan brush for light powder application on all over the face. It feels very soft yet picks up the product just fine. A girl can never have enough makeup brushes, so I am very happy to have another great one in my collection.
The value of this month’s BoxyCharm comes up to about $102. That’s a great value for a monthly subscription price of $21. I liked the products in the box and appreciate that most of them are full size. The primer is one of my all time favorites and the lipliner, eyeshadows trio and the fan brush are all fabulous products that I will definitely be using for a long time.
