For a $10 monthly subscription, I am super pumped to see a detailed information sheet, but hey it is Sephora, we really can’t expect any less, right? 🙂 This month’s theme centered around beauty staycation.
Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer – (7.5 mL) $10.00
A lightweight moisturizer that restores radiance and adds visible firmness for a smooth, luminous complexion. I have not tried any products from this brand, but it had always been on my list. So I was glad to see a sample of the moisturizer. It is perfect to be used in summer months because of its lightweight texture. My skin instantly felt very hydrated as soon as I applied it, and the best part is that it did not leave any residue behind!
It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara – (5 mL) $13.00
I am a huge fan of It Cosmetics as a brand, so definitely another item I was excited to see! This innovative lengthening mascara conditions the lashes with powerful ingredients like collagen, biotin, and peptides in addition to giving them a visible boost. Can’t wait to see it work!
Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Color Balm in Woppin Watermelon – $7.00
Truly a deluxe sized hydrating tinted lip balm that provides sheer coverage. I will be honest, I am not a fan of tinted balms of any kind, and this chubby stick by Clinique felt very sticky on the lips.
While it is a cheerful pink shade, perfect for hot summer days, for me it just did not work. The stickiness was a bit too overwhelming for me!
REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask – (10mL) $7.60
A soothing face mask that reduces redness, irritation, itchiness, and inflammation. It is made with white mushroom extract to de-stress the skin – now I do not have any issues in regards to redness or inflammation, but a tired mommy can certainly use up any masks meant to provide relaxation! So bring it on. 🙂
Madame C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Dream Come True Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque – (1.25 oz) $7.00
A nourishing treatment mask that deep conditions and rehydrates dry, damaged or color-treated hair. Firstly, it smells pretty amazing and just after the first use, my hair felt super smooth! I have wavy hair and I am always trying to achieve that smooth look. My go to hair mask has always been the Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Mask, and I totally swear by it, but I am willing to try out other brands since I do get bored of the same routine.
Perfume Pick of the Month: Viktor & Rolf Bonbon – $1.00
I liked this fragrance as it smells very feminine, albeit a bit on the stronger side! Always good to have these fragrance samples in makeup bags and for on-the-go mamas!
Verdict
Play! by Sephora turned out to be a great box this month! The overall value comes around $45 and that’s pretty amazing in terms of the monthly cost of the box. You also get to try some really popular brands from Sephora, and that’s always a big plus (at least for a beautyholic like me). The only item I was not super excited about was the Clinique Chubby Stick, but I am pretty sure, the rest of the stuff is going to get used up! Can’t wait to see what’s coming up next month.
