What’s inside?
- 5 deluxe samples + fragrance sample in a collectible bag
- 50 Bonus Beauty Insider points with any purchase
Sephora sends out different variations of this box, so you might not receive the same items I did. My box is #130.
Each box comes with a Play! pass which is a card that you can bring into the store to redeem for bonus 50 Beauty Insider points! Since Sephora is probably one of my favorite places inside a mall, these BI points will surely help me! 😉
For a $10 monthly subscription, I am super pumped to see a detailed information sheet, but hey it is Sephora, we really can’t expect any less, right? 🙂 This month’s theme centered around Elements of Beauty. I have to say I loved this little “Periodic Table” detailing all the elements of beauty. So, so cool!
Onto the items, now.
Caviar Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist – 1.4 fl oz – $8.75
This spray mist is great for adding instant volume to the hair. It is also free of synthetic color and completely suitable for color-treated hair, so that’s great! It had a citrusy fragrance so I definitely enjoyed that. However, I really do not need any extra volume since I have tons of “poofy” hair. Also, it added quite a bit of weight to my hair, so I was not a fan.
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick – .04 oz – $7.36
I couldn’t be any more excited to see this in my Sephora Play! this month. I have been meaning to try out the Hourglass foundation stick for some time, but I need to seriously empty out my 10 other foundations before, so I kept putting it off. However, that said, I totally loved this – it literally blended in seamlessly.
Very creamy and provides medium coverage that is buildable. So glad I got to test it out before I purchase the full-size. 🙂
Beauty Blender Micro Mini – $9.00
I have the original beauty blender (the bigger size) but I was definitely happy to see this micro one. Such a perfect size for those hard to reach places to blend in the foundation. Loved this!
KORRES Golden Krocus Ageless Saffron Elixir – (0.14 fl oz) $13.5
This golden elixir by Korres is infused with the antioxidant power of Greek saffron to universally correct all visible signs of aging. I personally enjoyed using this serum and thought it felt very refreshing. I tested it out for a couple nights and could really see a difference in the overall condition of my skin. Fewer pores visible and more even skin tone. Loved it!
Clinique High Impact Mascara with Lash Primer
Not a huge fan of Clinique here, but I did like this mascara and the fact that it came with the lash primer. I am not sure if it gave the “high impact” look but for an everyday mascara, this will totally work!
My Burberry Black Parfume – (sample)
This was infused with jasmine and peach nectar along with patchouli making it a tad too sweet for me. I enjoy the “woodsy” scents more, so this was sadly not my style.
Verdict
This month’s Play! by Sephora was almost a miss for me, but the addition of Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick, Beauty Blender Micro Mini and Korres Elixir made it work! The overall value comes around $35 which is still pretty amazing for the $10 monthly cost. And since I do get to see quite a few of the high-end brands, I am more than willing to keep it.
