What’s inside

I thought this month’s glam bag had a very chic look overall. The inner royal blue lining felt very buttery soft and to be honest, I can actually see myself using it as a small clutch too. Definitely classy looking.

Ipsy sends out quite a few variations of their bag, which I think is great, as it really keeps the surprise factor intact! These are the items I received in my glam bag.

Now onto the items.

Manefit Lily Whitening + Brightening and Mugwort Astringent + Pore Care – $2 each

Personally, I am really not into sheet masks, I actually find them a bit messy to use. But these Korean sheet masks are great for giving an overall brightened look to the face while improving skin clarity.

Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance Primer (0.25 fl oz) – $8.00

Huge fan of Smashbox primers, so always happy to see samples here. This moisturizing primer cream gives an instant magic-hour glow. It enhances, perfects and illuminates radiance while hydrating for better makeup applications.

Feels super creamy and will perfectly blend in with your foundation. Can’t wait to use it for some added natural glow!

Pixi by Petra Blush in Beach Rose – $8.00

This is a light-diffusing powder loaded with vitamin E so it definitely blended in flawlessly. However, truth be told, it feels a bit too orange/bronzey in terms of color.

I am not sure if I see any rosy-hues as the description suggests, but it is certainly more of a summer blush then fall or winter.

ColourPop Lippie Stix (full size) – $5.00

This exclusive matte shade was created in collaboration with other ipsters. It feels pretty velvety and highly pigmented which means you get completely opaque and full-coverage.

Again I feel this bright pink would be more suitable for summer months but can be pulled off in fall if all the other makeup is a bit subdued. ha 😉 Gotta say it is very pigmented, so that’s good at least!

Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Cleanser (1 g x 5) – $ 7.20

The concept of powder cleansers is a new one for me. However, I was pretty excited to try it out and did like that it is made with all-natural ingredients such as grapefruit seed oil and papaya enzyme. I got that squeaky clean feeling after using it and surprisingly it did not dry out my skin. I can totally see myself using this.

Verdict

Overall, Ipsy did not impress me much this month. The overall value this month came around $32 which is kind of on the low side by ipsy standards. While I absolutely loved the glam bag itself and thought it was pretty chic-looking, the contents within were just not my taste, other than the Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Cleanser and Smashbox Radiance Primer.
