Play! By Sephora Subscription Review - September 2017

For a $10 monthly subscription, I am super pumped to see a detailed information sheet, but hey it is Sephora, we really can’t expect any less, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ This month’s theme was about getting ready for fall.

Onto the items, now.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb (10 mL) – $7.60

Since I have crazy dry skin, I am always on the lookout for moisturizers, so I was super happy to see this one by Belif.

It is a gel-cream like formula which drenches the skin in cooling moisture. I think this will be perfect for the Fall months, when it’s cool but not freezing cold outside.

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12HR Wear Waterproof (0.017 oz) – $4.25

I have been using this eye pencil for years now! And I can’t say enough good things about it. Literally just glides on and does not budge once applied!

While I almost always get the shade Black Lace, I have also tried a couple other shades, and they all have the same color payoff. Love that it totally lives upto it’s name and I do not have to re-apply constantly. Always happy to have extras in my makeup stash.

Algenist Power Recharging Night Pressed Serum (0.23 fl oz) – $11.90

Okay, another one of my favorite brands. I have tried out a bunch of moisturisers and serums by Algenist and have always been very satisfied. This one is a highly concentrated solid serum to regenerate, smooth, and recharge skin in as little as 10 days!

Algenist Solid Serum

I have to say, I am definitely intrigued by the “solid serum” concept, since I have mostly used the liquid onces so far! But loved the consistency of this one here – feels like a thick cream that will take a while to blend in, but I know my dry skin craves for stuff like this! ๐Ÿ™‚

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel (0.03 oz) – $5.00

This award-winning, brow-volumizing fiber gel mimics the look of real hair for fuller looking brows. And I can use all the help in that department ha ๐Ÿ˜‰ since my brow hair is definitely on the sparse side. Excited to try this out.

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Amulet (0.02 fl oz) – $3.00

I honestly feel like liquid lipsticks have been way over done now. However that said, I did really like the shade Amulet and it felt creamy when I initially applied it.

But sadly within few minutes, it just felt very uncomfortable and made my lips super dry! But it’s such a gorgeous shade though, I guess I am going to make it work with some lip gloss on top!

Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Shampoo & Conditioner (sample)

I was actually glad to see not another fragrance sample this month. And looks like this Bumble & Bumble shampoo/conditioner combo would be great for my dry and frizzy hair, since it contains 6 feather light oils to give that silky, and smooth look!

Verdict

I personally loved this month’s Sephora Play! I can totally see myself using and enjoying pretty much all the products. But my favorites have to be Belif Aqua Bomb and Algenist Solid Serum. The overall value this month is around $32 which is not crazy high but since I really like the products, I’d say it’s a good value for just $10/month.
