Everything inside our kit this month.
This month’s theme was “Camping Adventure” so all activities and crafts revolved around creating a fun camping experience! I really appreciate how each activity comes wrapped in an individual package, making it easier to keep it aside for later as well as travel-friendly!
The information sheet lists all our crafts for the month and helps keep track of what’s in the busy bag. Very handy dandy for sure!
Let’s take a look at each activity in detail.
Foam 3D Camp Scene
Ending the summer with a fun diy camping fun. 🙂 These foam pieces are easy to handle for little ones and 2-4 year olds just love making things with their hands. So this was a perfect diy for both my kiddos.
My kids are obsessed with Peppa Pig so they had to bring in the toys and had a ball playing out a camping scene. The completed foam scenes are perfect size for any toy figurines.
Craft Stick Ornament
Another hands on activity that required the kids to put together a camping fire kit and pretend roasting marshmallows!
Next we had some canoeing fun and my 3-year old was able to put this together with relative ease. We also had to thread the holes in to connect the canoe, and I thought that was a great fine-motor skills activity!
Peppa and Mummy Pig hopped into the canoe as soon as it was ready to go into the water. 🙂
Paper Bag Owl
Give my kids some glue and/or stickers and they can spend hours with it. So this was another perfect “quiet-time” activity that they had fun making.
Our very wonky looking Owl is all ready! Thanks to the little 2 year old helper. 🙂
Camping is a Hoot Sign
Another easy to put together activity using foam pieces to create the camping is hoot sign.
We also used the provided string to hang it around in our playroom. 🙂 Please ignore the messy table 😉
Mini Camping Sticker Scene (2)
I am a huge fan of story-creating or story-retelling activities that require the use of stickers, as it really widens the kids’ imagination. Loved how my 3-year-old put everything together to create her camping scene. I saved the other one for a restaurant trip to keep her occupied. 😉
Overall, these busy bags by DoodleBug totally live up to their name! My kids can happily play with these for quite some time. I love that they are easy enough for them to make it themselves, along with providing them an opportunity for some pretend play, which is so important as well! On-the-go or rainy day, DoodleBug Busy Bags will provide just the perfect crafting fun!
