For a $10 monthly subscription, I am super pumped to see a detailed information sheet, but hey it is Sephora, we really can’t expect any less, right? 🙂 This month’s theme was all about complexion companions such as prime, cover, set and adding glow!
Let’s check these out closely.
Becca First Light Priming Filter (0.2 oz) – $7.20
I am a huge fan of Becca highlighters but have never tried out the primer. This is a skin-awakening primer that instantly reduces signs of a bad complexion day. It’s great for dry or dehydrated skin and literally just melted into my skin.
The purple tinge really helps in dissipating any redness or problem areas and instantly provides a glow-from-within look without drying out the skin. I think I am totally ready to give up on my Smashbox Primer and make the switch to this one!
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation (0.16 oz) – $7.20
This foundation is the one that actually started my love for Sephora some 15 years back. I still remember it was my first ever “high-end” foundation purchase as a college student. Obviously, since then I have tried out numerous foundations over the years and realized that I am truly a cream foundation kind of a gal. However, I must say that I find MUFE to be a great medium-to-full coverage foundation that does not dry out my skin.
As a mommy, since I am always on the go, I like to mix this in with my moisturizer to lighten out the coverage. The shade is Y245 (Soft Sand) and it’s a perfect match for my NC-20ish skin.
Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops (0.095 fl oz) – $7.98
After watching numerous YouTubers apply this Cover FX drops, I was super curious to try this out, so I am glad to have received a sample in my Play!
I am sure this will work beautifully mixed in with liquid foundation to give that glow-from-within look. On its own, it might be a tad bit too “glowy” though.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Loose Powder (0.12 oz) – $4.56
Another favorite of mine – I have been a huge fan of Laura Mercier products and this setting powder is just perfect for setting your concealer under the eyes. I have been using it for quite a few years this way and have never seen my concealer budge or crease! Always happy to have a mini version in my to-go makeup bag.
Make Up Forever Ultra HD Skin Booster (0.15 fl oz) – $15.37
I was so excited to see this Skin Booster by MUFE. It is a hydrating face serum that delivers a plumped look and smooths out fine lines. So I am sure this will work really well under foundation to give that flawless finished look. Can’t wait to test it out.
Gabrielle Chanel EDP (.05 fl oz) – $3.08
I am forever loyal to Coco Mademoiselle and never waver from it. But I do have to say that I found Gabrielle to be sheer and sophisticated, however, it was a bit too floral for me. But if you are looking for a soft and feminine fragrance, this one would fit the bill.
Verdict
Overall, I was super happy with this month’s Play! Although not all the products were new to me – I was still pretty happy with the whole complexion theme. My favorites have to be the Becca Primer, Make Up Forever Skin Booster and Laura Mercier’s Translucent Powder. The overall value was around $45.39 which I am pretty happy about!
