For a $10 monthly subscription, I am super pumped to see a detailed information sheet, but hey it is Sephora, we really can’t expect any less, right? ๐ This month’s theme was all about surviving the upcoming chilly months!
Let’s check these out closely.
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask (1 fl oz) – 20.00
This was a pretty awesome mask, it was also very creamy and felt luxurious as I applied it to my face. And the results were as expected, crystal clear skin with pores completely disappeared! I can’t wait to purchase the full-size.
Sephora Gel Gloss Ultra Brilliant (2.9g) – $10.00
Love that this gloss did not have the tacky feel.
This would be perfect with a mauve/nude lipstick shade. Glad that we are finally getting out of the “matte” lips phase! ๐
Perricone MD Hydrating Cloud Cream (7.5 mL) – $12.00
Being a huge fan of Perricone MD, I was super excited to try this out. However, I did not find it to be very moisturizing. But then again, I have extremely dry skin, so that might contribute to it. I can see myself using this as a day cream, but unfortunately, need something much heavier for the night!
I did like the consistency – felt almost like a primer.
Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm (15 mL) – $3.00
This leave-in conditioning balm melts into hair and supports hydration and reduces frizz. I don’t have issues with frizz anymore, but bring on the hydration! ๐
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara 10 Noir (5g) – $12.00
Oh boy! Talk about a dramatic mascara. If you are looking for that dramatic faux lashes look, then this is the one! While I admit, I can find tons at the drugstore for much less, I actually enjoyed using this! This one did not clump on me and added instant volume. So in love.
My Burberry Blush (2 mL) – $3.60
Fragrances are definitely all about personal preferences. However, that said this is a beautiful fruity floral scent with key notes of pomegranate, rose and jasmine. I am super picky about my fragrances, however, I found this to be on the warm and lighter side.
Verdict
This month’s Play! did not bowl me over sadly. However, I definitely enjoyed some products such as Marc Jacobs Major Volume Mascara and Origins Charcoal Mask. The overall value was around $60 which is pretty awesome, but that said, I am starting to get a bit bored of the sample sizes, but for $10 a month, you really can’t complain. ๐
