Everything inside our box. This month was all about learning about the various sea creatures!
Under The Sea Information booklet! 🙂 I am a huge fan of these extremely detailed instruction booklets that are exclusively designed by the Kids Night In team! Kudos to them for creating such colorful & creative informational booklets!
The first page lists some fun recipes pertaining to the theme of the month that you could try out with the kids. These were optional but good to have on hand if you’re following a theme for the month. 🙂
The girls put on their Starfish and Crab masks on and were ready to jump into the book of the month: Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle.
Snack of the month! Obviously, it had to be sea-creature related. 🙂
The younger one is at a stage where she loves making up stories while looking at pictures, which is what she’s doing here. 😉 Notice the snack she’s holding in the other hand, just so no one takes it away. ha. 🙂
Activity: Create Your Mister Seahorse
Everything required to make our seahorse.
We drew out the seahorse and the 4-year-old went a little crazy painting away using the colored tissue paper.
Next, we had to cut out the seahorse and glue it on a canvas-like paper and paint waves as the background.
I’d say that’s pretty close? ha 😉 This was such a fun activity, especially since we read the book just before starting it — so the girls were very enthusiastic about creating the exact similar Mister Seahorse as in Eric Carle’s book!
Activity 2: Underwater Sticker Scene
The next activity was creating your very own underwater scene with the included glittery/colorful sea creatures stickers.
The older one is thoroughly into it while enjoying the snack that came in the box (thankfully there were 2 cookies in there, so this mama was spared of any fights between the toddlers!) 😉
Activity #3: Sea Life Yoga
This one is all about making sure that little ones get up and jump around using all their energy!
Actually quite fun to play around as a whole family and we had a blast showing off our flexibility and yoga skills. 🙂
Another fun one! You receive at least 10 different cards with sea creatures and their poses on it.
Verdict
This month’s Kids Night In Box was a hit with my girls! Being huge fans of anything by Eric Carle, we absolutely loved the Mister Seahorse board book! And the activities were just perfect for a quiet afternoon. We also love the amount of creativity and how easily the theme flows throughout the box. Don’t miss out on this one and for a limited time, with any 3, 6 or 12-month membership, get a FREE box with the coupon code: ONEFREE.
