This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.

As soon as the weather warms up, I get a tad too excited with the possibility of changing the decor not only inside the house, but even outside! And since I have been on a DIY kick lately, thanks to my obsession with all things Cricut, I figured it was just the perfect time to design a front door welcome sign! I mean, let’s be honest, I have seen these signs at stores and they usually come with a hefty price tag! So as a woman on a mission, I was ready to tackle this project with my very handy and compact Cricut Joy!

What is Cricut Joy?

Now if you are new to the world of Cricut, let me introduce you to Cricut Joy! It is the smallest smart cutting machine ever! And just the perfect companion to quickly and easily personalize anything with just one cut and one color, in less than 15 minutes! It’s also just the perfect size – meaning I can take it anywhere, and use it anywhere! It is also very easy to set up. I downloaded the Cricut Design space app on my mobile and desktop, and I have been using it both ways.

Why I love it so much?

And because of its design Cricut Joy uses Cricut Smart Materials that are actually different from other vinyl and paper. And these are specifically designed to work without a cutting mat, so there’s less to buy and carry around!

I also personally found it super easy to use, especially as someone who is a bit new to the world of DIY projects. And I can assure you guys, I am hooked now! I already have so many fun projects planned out with my trusted Cricut Joy, that I can’t wait to share with you all!

How to make a Front Door Welcome Sign

Now let’s hop on to how I made my front door welcome sign! I used the following items:

  • Cricut Joy
  • Cricut Tools
  • Cricut Joy SmartVinyl – Permanent (in any color of your choice)
  • Cricut Joy Transfer Tape

I picked up the wood frame in the following measurements: 4 inches x 48 inches. I then stained it with a color of my choice. Next it was time for all the Cricut Joy fun to get started!

I designed my letters and any other images that I wanted into Cricut Design space and it was honestly such a fun process to play around with various Cricut fonts. Once I was happy with the look, I clicked on “Make It” and placed the SmartVinyl into my Cricut Joy.

Next, it was all about weeding the letters from the vinyl using the weeding tool!

Once done, I applied the transfer tape on my weeded vinyl design.

And the vinyl design was ready to go on the frame! I just aligned it to the center and used the scraper to burnish the design onto the frame! Removed the transfer tape gently and voila, the vinyl design was ready!

I also added in half wreath designs (also from Cricut Design Space) and tied a twine to add a bit more character! And that’s it. A beautiful, yet very easy Welcome sign ready for the entryway or porch in very little time! 🙂

Tell me in the comments below how my DIY project turned out! 🙂 And, if you are looking to save both time and money and get into Cricut crafting, then I highly recommend you to check out Cricut Joy!
